With Spring upon us, I thought it would be a great time to provide a quick update on what we’re up to at Eyecare Center of DuPage in our never-ending quest to serve you better.

When we consider any changes or upgrades, we always keep our mission in mind: to provide you with the best service you can get anywhere, and to do so in a way that reflects our conscience and our values. In this newsletter, we’ll tell you about…

Cutting-edge technology. Over the past year or so, this has probably been our busiest category, as we work to keep your eyes happy and healthy. There’s too much to say in one short newsletter, so we’ll touch on two key technologies, OCT and ultra-widefield retinal imaging, and save the rest for a later newsletter.
Improved accessibility to high quality products and services. Great products and services mean nothing if they’re not affordable. We’ve renewed our participation with Care Credit and have continued to expand our in-house pay-over-time options, giving you flexibility to fit your needs. One of our goals for 2025 was to expand our eyewear collections to give you more varied and exciting options. True to our belief that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, we’re investing in technologies that help us diagnose and treat eye problems before you even know they’re there. Because eye diseases like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and many others often don’t show any noticeable symptoms until irreversible damage has been done, early detection can literally be the difference between keeping your sight or losing it. Because of their tremendous benefit and ease of use, we provide these services to all of our patients at least once per year.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a completely non-invasive scan that works a lot like the ultrasound scans performed on babies in utero. It helps us see right through tissues in the eye and take highly accurate measurements down to the level of a few microns! Thanks to this extremely high level of precision, we’re able to assess and detect changes in a year or two that would otherwise take a decade or two to become apparent. This is a huge deal in the treatment of many conditions.

Ultra-widefield (UWF) retinal imaging is as simple as having your picture taken, but can provide a totally unique view of the retina. Not only does this help to detect subtle retinal abnormalities, but it allows perhaps the most useful comparison of all: how your retina looks today compared to how it looked before. Unexpected changes may alert your doctor to eye conditions (like retinal tears, epiretinal membranes, etc.) or even systemic conditions (like diabetes, auto-immune conditions, or cancer).

Excellent visioncare & eye health is now more affordable.

You shouldn't have to compromise the quality of your visioncare/eye health, and now you don't have to. You may now use your existing Care Credit account at our practice. Don't have a Care Credit account? No problem, we can assist you in signing up for one. It just takes a few minutes to enroll and get approved, then you can immediately start using your account.

If you prefer not to open up another line of credit, we also have a private payment plan available through our practice. This way you can use an already existing line of credit or your debit card for monthly automatic payments. Both of these affordable options will give you a period of six months with no interest to pay for services/materials rendered at our practice. If you'd rather not have extended payment terms, you are always able to use your HSA/FSA funds as well.

We like to make things easy for you.

We’ve heard your worries about recent serious illness and even deaths caused by contaminated eye drops from unregulated Amazon and big box store resellers, and we’ve heard your frustrations about difficulties finding the right solutions. In response, we’ve expanded our popular Total Care packages and now offer annual supply packs of solutions and drops for wearers of ortho-k, scleral, and gas permeable lenses.
